Achilles Reduce Carbon Scheme
Atplas Maintains Platinum Status in Achilles Reduce Carbon Scheme for Fifth Consecutive Year 20-03-2025
Atplas is proud to announce that we have successfully maintained our Platinum Status Certification in the Achilles Reduce Carbon Scheme (formerly CEMARS – Carbon and Energy Management And Reduction Scheme) for the fifth consecutive year.
This achievement is a testament to Atplas’ unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility and continuous improvement in carbon reduction. The Platinum Status is the highest recognition awarded by the scheme administrators, reaffirming our leadership in sustainable business practices.
Significant Reductions in Carbon Emissions
Between our base year (2010-11) and the latest reporting period (2023-24), Atplas has achieved:
✅ 52.5% reduction in absolute emissions (Scope 1 & 2)
✅ 16.2% reduction in emissions intensity (Scope 1, 2 & 3)
This milestone reflects our continued investment in carbon reduction strategies, aligning with our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments—critical factors in industry tenders and reporting obligations to key partners like AVK.
Understanding Our Emissions
Atplas' carbon footprint is largely driven by electricity, gas, and freight operations, which account for 99% of total emissions. Our ongoing efforts target these key areas:
🔹 Scope 1: LPG usage, company vehicle mileage, business air travel
🔹 Scope 2: Electricity and gas consumption
🔹 Scope 3: Import/export freight (land, sea, and air), water usage, and waste management
A Continued Commitment to Sustainability
The 2023-24 reporting period marked our 14th year of demonstrating greenhouse gas (GHG) performance through the Achilles Carbon Reduce Scheme. Atplas remains dedicated to further enhancing our environmental performance, reducing our carbon footprint, and driving sustainable growth.
We are proud of this achievement and will continue to push the boundaries of sustainability in manufacturing and supply chain operations.
